Lately I’ve been having so much fun with my Mindstorm NXT Legos, and my son’s Legos, that I’ve been picking up Legos for myself.
I know I know, more proof that I’m a child in a man’s body, but for a long time my hobby was cartooning. When cartooning became my job, separating it from down time became harder and harder.
So, in came Legos.
Ahhh…
I can’t tell you how much fun I’ve been having with them, and how totally engrossing they are.
Anyway, I was looking for something to create, and, as you often hear given as advice, I started with what I know; me:
I had to piece this doppelgänger together little by little. I love the flannel shirt!
And here’s my desk:

My scanner is on the far left and my new iPhone is charging next to it. There’s a coffee mug, a pencil cup, mouse pad… I’m nothing if not detail oriented.
Here I am at my drawing table:

And here I am with a deadline looming:

Here I am before my morning coffee:

And me pretending I’m Tom Richmond:

Here’s a recurring dream. I don’t know what it means, but I like it:
And, finally, me playing basketball with a viking and Shaquille O’Neal, while Doc Ock and Darth Vader place bets.

That reminds me of the office I built out of Legos, including a copying machine and a break room with a coffee maker and two arcade machines. I've got photos somewhere - I need to dig them up and post them.

I plan on sneaking into Mark's house and secretly switching his Legos with Megablocks. Much fun will ensue!

In the fantasy sequence, I recognize Catwoman; but is the other person supposed to be ROTJ Princess Leia or Carrie Fisher today?

I think it's supposed to be Poison Ivy, Worth. I'm pretty sure the Lego Princess Leia is yellow. But that begs the question - why aren't the other Lego Batman characters using that color scheme?

That explains why Lego Mark Anderson looks the way he does. I thought it was jaundice.

OK, non-smartass answer first: Yep, that's Poison Ivy. Lego has been moving its licensed properties to a more flesh colored look. Dunno how far that reaches…
And the smartass answer: There's part of the Lego me that's flesh colored. Wanna see it?
