This looks to be a student film, but it’s realtively well made, and some if the information is interesting:
I went and saw Up over the weekend and was just bowled over. Wow! Probably my favorite Pixar flick since The Incredibles!
But apparently I left just a smidge too early:
By the time we were at the end of the film, I was beginning to think that there weren't going to be any love letters to Apple in Up. The credits, featuring Russell's Wilderness Explorer merit badges floating by on a typed page, began to look somewhat promising. Sure enough, I spied a stylized and stationary "Spinning Pizza of Death," the dreaded Mac OS X wait cursor, on a merit badge just about at the end of the credits.
Dang!
However I did see a new trailer with some old Pixar friends and some familiar plastic bricks:

Stumbled on this a way back:
Beyond the fact that this is just cool, and an impressive display of 1988 computer power, there's some cool people involved.
Andrew Stanton (Finding Nemo, Wall-E) is listed as both "Storyteller" and "Illustrator." John Lasseter (Toy Story, Cars) is credited as "Coach."
And there's a thanks at the end to "Chronical Features" for usage of a Gary Larson cartoon on the coffee cup:
It's hard to tell which cartoon it is, but that's a nice touch.
What a nice little piece of cartoony history!

…I start getting comments about my 2004 review of Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol.
Not too bad so far:
Just reading these blogs for the first time while looking for the DVD version of Magoo's Christmas. It's my favorite and I'm approaching 58 years old. When young Ebenezer sings "I'm All Alone in the World" it still brings tears to my eyes. Clever lyrics, i.e., "Where are two shoes to click to my clack . . . " Can't beat it. Will always be a favorite of mine, but to each his own. God bless us, everyone!
But soon there'll be more like this:
Anderson you're a pompous fool. Every boomer alive knows this is the best animated Christmas classic ever made. Of course the repeats of "razzleberry" make us cringe, but it sticks in our brains like all genius product marketing jingles. If you don't see the joy here, you grew up too fast. So sad for you. Time to go back to school, relive your childhood like Magoo did, and btw, learn to draw.
Happy Holidays indeed!
