Great Tip For Getting Your Content Found Online
I recently read a very good review of Inbound Marketing by Brian Halligan and Dharmesh Shah, so I picked up a copy. Wow! Not only succinctly written, but inspiring as well. I have a host of new projects in the queue for my developers.
While the whole book is good thus far, this particular snippet leapt out at me in the chapter entitled “Get Found in the Blogosphere” about producing remarkable content:
Create cartoons or caricatures of things happening in your industry. For inspiration, take a look at the funny cartoons in the Sunday New York Times that parody politicians, and then find an artist who can create something similar for your industry. Buy a copy of the New Yorker magazine and take a look at the cartoons and try to find someone to create similarly humorous ones about your own industry.
Hmm… Seems to me like someone else wrote something similar recently…
Anyway, the whole book is full of great ideas like that. I recommend it highly!

OK, so I didn’t like the movie, but I did very much like this interview with animator Darrell Van Citters about the making of Mr. Magoo’s Christmas Carol and the new book about the film.

Described as “a digital comics platform similar to iTunes,” the software will offer downloadable digital versions of comics by publishers Boom! Studios and Top Cow for just 99 cents (Discussions are being held with other publishers to add their lines).
If this is half as cool as it looks, I’m in!

Pixar “Stiff-arms… Children”
A really nice article over at Newsweek about Pixar's "Up" with a great short history of animation:
The little animation studio that could, Pixar was established in 1986 not as a cartoon factory but as a computer manufacturer. Many on the skeleton staff were cartoonists at heart, but the shorts they produced on company time were designed to promote the company hardware. When Toy Story, their pilot feature, was greenlighted in 1991, they rushed out to a screenwriting seminar. They were amateurs.
