Hey, my brother-in-ink, Mike Lynch, has a new book out - Murray the Bird, the Angriest Bird in the Pet Shop!
Apparently it sold like hotcakes at MeCAF this weekend, so you might want to grab yours before they're all gone. (I made sure to order mine before posting this.)
I was checking out a new collectibles shop nearby the other day (Patrol Dewback, I'll be back!) when I stumbled on the first issue of Pizzazz by Marvel.
There's a ton of fun stuff in it, but I thought I'd share just a few of my favorite pages:

You'd think Dr. Strange would be above card tricks, but I guess not. Also, that's not Dr. Strange in the photo...

...that's 15-year-old Jamie Schack who never lived that photo down.

Who knew Dr. Doom has such a sense of humor?

Find the answer on the Silver Surfer's crotch!

Not only is Ock is long gone, but he's apparently a giant now! Stay put, Spidey.

There's the cover for you...

...but the back cover is my favorite! Jack Davis!
And just to wrap things up nicely, here's a commercial for Pizzazz to start your week off right:
Proving that not all men are from Mars (he's from Venus, well, technically Kenosha, WI) it's Electro-Man! 1967's pill-popping, crotch-showing, light-up-glowing superhero! (Click here to download a PDF of the entire coloring book.)
Here's just a few pages to whet your appetite:
That's some awkward coloring/running.

Crotch!

That's right kids, pills give you power.

So give them to your friends!

Whoa, man...

Indeed there are.

Insert Uranus joke here.

Hope you enjoyed that, and don't forget to grab the entire PDF.
Here's some other coloring books I've scanned in too:
Inky pal Adrian Sinnott let me know that he's published his first iBook, A Boy and His Sog!, and asked if I'd take a look at it.
I loved it! Great art, great story, just great! But since I'm not totally unbiased, I thought I'd also share it with my 6-year-old daughter and ask her to review it. Here's what she wrote (with some capitalization and punctuation help from her dad):
My favorite part of this book is the first page. I like the way the pet looks.
I like the part where all the boy's friends are running away in horror. I also like that the boy's dad is a mad scientist. I like how funny the pictures look. It made me laugh. I like how I am able to read it on the iPad. I would like to see more books like this.
Here's another look at the book (without giving away too much), and a quick peek at the reviewer:

You can grab A Boy and His Sog to read with your own kids on iTunes for just $0.99! And you totally should!
From 1979 Hallmark and Marvel come these super awesome superhero valentines!
You've got Captain America, Ms. Marvel, the Hulk, Spider-Man, Iron Man, and, my personal favorite, The Thing!
(And be sure to check out these 1966 Batman valentines and the SuperFriends Action Valentine Playbook as well as my valentine cartoons.)
Enjoy:
